30 Montaigne, the Dior experience in a legendary setting

2022-05-02T11:06:43.121Z

Full of history and symbols, the 30 Montaigne boutique unveils its new face. Between cultural heritage, heritage and modernity, this space shines the Dior universe.

The boutique at 30 Montaigne is undergoing a renaissance.

After two and a half years of work, the emblematic address of the Dior house – founded in 1946 by Monsieur Dior – has reopened its doors, at the crossroads of innovation and its unique heritage.

A true place of experience, the 30 Montaigne boutique, redesigned by architect Peter Marino, highlights Dior's heritage, culture and creativity.

If we find the ornate balconies, the scrolls and the mascaron on its facade, the interior decor is reinvented to honor haute couture, fine jewelry, the art of living, beauty, gastronomy and expertise.

The boutique, the Ateliers – for haute couture and haute joaillerie –, the Haute Couture Salons, La Galerie Dior, Le Restaurant Monsieur Dior and La Pâtisserie Dior, the gardens and La Suite Dior are spread over 10,000 m2 dedicated to Excellency.

Spaces that celebrate all of Monsieur Dior's passions: architecture, art, nature and elegance.

This unique address thus offers an immersion in the codes of Dior, through around a hundred materials, stones and other fabrics – like caning and toile de Jouy – each evoking a chapter in the history of the House.

Within La Galerie Dior are unveiled – over nearly 2,000 m2 – models, sketches and archival items by Christian Dior, and those who succeeded him, according to a scenography developed by Nathalie Crinière.

No less than 452 miniature dresses and 1874 objects designed in 3D printing are displayed on the walls of its staircase.

Arts and craftsmanship

The Haute Couture Ateliers are joined by those of Haute Joaillerie – established for the first time at 30 Montaigne –, while the boutique hosts all of the Dior universes: ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, leather goods, perfumes and even Dior Maison objects.

All in a setting that leaves plenty of room for art, like the rose by Isa Genzken, oils on canvas by Alberto Bertoldi in the fitting rooms or even a poetic sculpture by designer Paul Cocksedge in the heart of the Rotunda.

Furniture by major designers also punctuates the stroll.

The aesthetic choices reflect the desire to enhance the meticulous details, the craftsmanship, the know-how and the beauty of the gesture, like the delicate tailoring of a haute couture silhouette.

A solicitation of all the senses

Nature is also present with the creation of three gardens – imagined by landscape architect Peter Wirtz in collaboration with Peter Marino – where Christian Dior's favorite flowers – lily of the valley and roses – are revealed.

All the senses are solicited at the 30 Montaigne boutique.

Jean Imbert is the author of the dishes and cakes of Restaurant Monsieur Dior and La Pâtisserie Dior, in homage to the couturier's taste for gastronomy and the art of living.

The opportunity also to admire the immense pictorial work of Guy Limone and the mirror, made up of geometric panels, created by Claudia Wieser.

Visiting the 30 Montaigne boutique means discovering all the iconic facets of the Dior spirit, between surprises and audacity, past and future.
