(ANSA) - ROME, 02 MAY - Green light from the Council of Ministers decree extending the cut in suicide excise duties to 8 July.
The intervention is also extended to methane for which the excise tax goes to zero and VAT is reduced to 5%.
The Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the President MarioDraghi and the Minister of Economy and Finance DanieleFranco - reads the communiqué of the CDM - approved a decree-law that introduces urgent measures regarding VAT excise duties on fuels.
In consideration of the persistence of the economic effects deriving from the exceptional increase in the prices of energy products, starting from 3 May 2022 and until 8 July 2022, the rates of excise duty referred to in Annex I of the consolidated text of the legislative provisions concerning taxes on production and consumption and related penal and administrative sanctions approved with the legislative decree 26 October 1995, n.
504 and subsequent amendments, of the products indicated below are restated in the following measures: gasoline € 478.40 per thousand liters;
gas or diesel oil used as fuel: € 367.40 per thousand liters;
liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) used as fuel 182.61 euros per thousand kilograms;
natural gas used for transport zero euros per cubic meter.
Furthermore, for the same period, the VAT rate applied to natural gas used for transport is set at 5%.
