The hatred of the "lateral thinkers"

2022-05-02T17:48:55.684Z

They spit on police officers, mob doctors and despise journalists. The self-proclaimed "lateral thinkers" give free rein to their hatred of those who think differently at demonstrations. Where is this anger coming from?

For conspiracy fanatics in the corona pandemic, everything that belongs to the "system" is an enemy: doctors, police officers, journalists.

They are resisted with all means, sometimes even with physical violence.

A punch hit SPIEGEL TV reporter Henrik Neumann.

He only wanted to film a “silent demo” against the corona measures.

Police officers are also attacked.

That was not always so.

At first, some law enforcement officers sympathized with the demonstrators.

But that changed.

And doctors in Corona wards are also feeling the aggression.

SPIEGEL TV reporter Marie Groß visited a corona denier in the intensive care unit.

Even there, the economics professor and university lecturer Werner Müller denies the effects of his corona infection, gasping for air in the presence of the doctor.

After his hospital stay, he continued to demonstrate with Corona critics.

In the fifth episode, "Under Interrogation: The Pandemic of Anger," SPIEGEL TV reporters Marie Groß and Henrik Neumann discuss with religious scholar Matthias Pöhlmann whether the demos are a kind of church service.

The host of the format is SPIEGEL TV editor Christina Pohl.
