Ukraine: NGOs, 32 activists and demonstrators arrested in Russia

(ANSA) - ERICE, 02 MAY - At least 32 journalists, activists and people demonstrating for peace were arrested yesterday in Russia, a country whose troops invaded Ukraine: the NGO Ovd-Info, reported by the Moscow Times, reports them.


    On the day of the Labor Day, the Russian police - as Ovd-Info is known - arrested seven people in Moscow and seven in St. Petersburg, six in Novosibirsk and six in Chelyabinsk.

According to the Moscow Times, several people were arrested with placards with variants of the slogan "Peace, work, May".


    Over 15,000 people who have demonstrated against the war have been detained in Russia since Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
