It's a historic election!
On May 3, 1936, the Popular Front, a coalition formed by Communists, Socialists and Radicals won the legislative elections.
For the first time under the Third Republic, the left, led by Léon Blum, will govern France.
Eighty-six years later, La France insoumise hopes to repeat the feat and succeed on this symbolic date in the meeting of left-wing parties in view of the legislative elections of 2022.

Born in 1934, in reaction to the rise of fascism in Europe and the movement of nationalist leagues in France, the Popular Front won a majority in the Chamber of Deputies two years later.
After an unprecedented movement of demands which threatened to paralyze the country, the Blum government was formed on June 4, 1936. The President of the Council then announced his projects and assured that "
workers' demands will be settled by law
".
