In the first months of life, the baby will spend much of his day in the stroller, or rather in the stroller's bath.

It is a safe environment for him, protected, pleasant and enveloping and also a suitable surface for practicing lying on the stomach and lifting the head.

Michal Alon

, an expert in infant development, recommends leaving the baby in the bath for at least the first three months and if possible even up to five and six months.

What are the signs that the baby is due to move to a stroller?

The bath is too small - you may notice that your baby is starting to get a little cramped in the bath.

Of course it depends on both the size of the bath you purchased and the size of your baby.

The baby gets up and there is a risk that he will fall off the stroller - it could be that the baby starts to get over six, is intrigued to see the view and the environment outside, and you are afraid that he will fall from the stroller down.

Despite these signs, it is advisable to pull the baby in the bath as much as possible, at least until the age of 5 months.

However, so have the best acquaintance with your baby so be attentive to your instincts.

What should you make sure before moving to a stroller?

Full reclining position - you should buy a stroller that can be reclined 180 degrees.

This way you can offer your baby to sleep lying down even when he is already on a stroller.

Of course it is not recommended to sit on a stroller a baby who is not yet sitting independently and has not sat yet.

Possibility to rotate with your face to you - it is advisable to choose a stroller that allows you to assemble it with your face to you as needed.

At least in the beginning, with the transition from the bath, the baby will be with his face towards you and this will allow him a softer transition - he will still see the environment but also a familiar and soothing face.

What do you need to know about moving to a stroller?

Be sure to strap the baby in the stroller at any age and at any seat in the stroller, even if it is short.

Also, remember that in a stroller the baby is more exposed than in the bath, so in winter it is colder and in summer - warm.

When it is cold, be sure to wear socks and a blanket and a rain cover, and when it is hot, apply sunscreen to the bare feet that protrude from the stroller and open the roof for maximum shading.
