"Ozark", season 4 part II: the successful end of one of Netflix's best series

With the release of its final seven episodes on Friday April 29, this dark and family thriller has taken care of its release. The inferno gear

If only for highlighting the talent of Julia Garner, “Ozark” is a must-see Netflix fiction.

The 28-year-old actress has been in the news a lot lately when she played the title role in Shonda Rhimes' Inventing Anna, a series about fake heiress scammer Anna Delvey (also on Netflix).

However, it is "Ozark" that allowed him to reveal himself, thanks to the role of Ruth Langmore.

This somewhat clueless heroine becomes an ally of the Byrde family, who launders money for a Mexican cartel.

As the seasons passed, she became more and more impressive, channeling growing anger and explosive emotions.

The fourth and final season was split into two parts.

At the end of the first (posted in January 2022), Ruth let out all her rage, broken by a drama that touched her personally.

It is found in the last seven completely freewheeling parts.

Enough to allow Julia Garner to express herself in the most instinctive way possible, unlike the series of Shonda Rhimes where she always played on pretense.

Alongside him, Jason Bateman and Laura Linney play Marty and Wendy Byrde, whose ambition knows no bounds.

It is above all the second that fascinates, as its trajectory plunges ever further into darkness.

The two actors also took the opportunity to go behind the camera: Laura Linney for episode 11 of this season 4, and Jason Bateman, who had already made 10, for the very last part of the series.

A documentary to prolong the pleasure

This comes to crown a last breathless salvo.

The mastery of tension throughout the seventy minutes is breathtaking.

It's always difficult to finish a series and "Ozark" is doing really well.

The scenario does not fall into the easy, will not leave the spectators unscathed, and may even be able to frustrate some of them.

"Ozark" has always been a radical series, and the bias of the curtain down is surprising, but very much in line with everything that has happened before.

Less flashy than other long-term hits from Netflix such as "La Casa de Papel" or "Stranger Things", "Ozark" has been able to gain momentum over the years, and proves here that it is stop at the right time.

A thirty-minute documentary, titled “Ozark: Farewell to the Series,” is also available on the platform.

What prolong the pleasure a little bit more, before actually saying goodbye to fiction and its characters.

Editor's note:
