Many people become infected with the corona virus when they first come into contact with it.
Others are not infected.
Researchers have various explanations for this.
Munich – For some, an infection with the corona virus seems like a gamble.
While those who have been boosted are infected again when they first come into contact with Covid-19, others are almost completely unaffected.
Researchers around the world have collected data and developed some hypotheses as to what may be the cause.

Many people still end up in intensive care units around the world, even if the courses are usually milder than at the beginning of the pandemic.
Virologists and immunologists are still puzzled as to why some people become infected with corona, even multiple times.
Others who have had contact with infected people themselves do not become ill.
Looking at the collected findings, four theories have emerged.

Corona infection: Scientists are pursuing these theories
Even if much does not seem clear yet, scientists have worked out these theories:
Vaccinated people have already become infected without being noticed.
Genetic differences are crucial, especially blood type.
The immune system works differently.
The immune system depends on the time of day.
Corona theories: Infected unnoticed and the immune system
It has often happened to people who have been vaccinated three times that they have become infected unnoticed.
It couldn't be completely avoided.
However, the viral load is so low that a rapid test does not work.
People do not feel any or only very slight symptoms similar to a runny nose.
The immune system is different from person to person.
Some people's immune system works better than others.
Researchers see evidence that defense cells built up over the course of life are more effective against new corona viruses and thus offer greater protection.
Corona: What role does the blood group and the time of day play?
Our immune system fluctuates from day to day.
When we feel rested and relaxed, attacking viruses often have a harder time doing something.
However, if we are not so resilient due to previous illnesses or lack of sleep, the coronavirus is more likely to multiply in the body and cause damage.
Here, too, the researchers are concerned with the genetic differences.
So far, around 15 gene segments have been discovered that influence our immune system.
Of great interest is the part of the gene that determines the blood group.
It seems that people with blood group 0 are less likely to get infected with the corona virus.
French researchers have concluded that this group is more difficult to get infected, but can transmit an infection very easily.
Professor Carsten Watzl from the TU Dortmund also recently commented on why some people contract Covid and others do not.
This topic is likely to keep researchers around the world busy for a while.
After evaluating a lot of data, an infection is also dependent on the viral load.
Masks and distance continue to offer the best protection here.
