After JeanneMoreau, Bernardo Bertolucci, Manoel de Oliveira, Jean-PierreLéaud, Agnès Varda and Alain Delon, it is the new honorary Palme d'Or.
"My first time, 34 years ago, Cannes changed my life" commented Whitaker, who is also Unesco envoy for peace.
For the Sake of Peace, directed by Christophe Castagne & ThomasSametin, produced by Whitaker, will be screened in SpecialScreening on Wednesday 18 May.
