From October 1st, the mini-job limit should be based on a weekly working time of ten hours at minimum wage conditions.
What that means specifically.
On October 1, 2022, according to traffic light plans, the
upper earnings limit for mini jobs*
will increase from 450 to 520 euros per month – at the same time as the
planned increase in the statutory minimum wage, which is to be raised to twelve euros from October.
According to the German Press Agency (dpa), the
coalition agreement
between the government partners SPD, Greens and FDP states: "In future, the mini-job limit will be based on a weekly working time of 10 hours at minimum wage conditions." According to the traffic light plans, the
Midi job upper limit
on October 1 from currently 1,300 euros to 1,600 euros.
The mini-job limit is to increase on October 1st - adjustment also for midi-jobs
"In the case of mini-jobs, the gross wage goes directly to the employee up to the specified upper limit," said a report by
Zeit.de
in January in view of the debate about the planned increase in the earnings limit for mini-jobs.
The company pays a fixed percentage of wages as a tax, which mainly includes social security contributions.
In the case of
midi jobs
with a limit of 1,300 euros so far, the contributions to social security for employees are reduced “so that the deductions are not as high compared to mini jobs”.
Registration at the Minijob-Zentrale
For example , in order not to employ
domestic
help on the black market, they have to be registered with the
mini-job center
, as the German pension insurance explains in principle, according to the dpa.
The
quickest way to
register with the Minijob-Zentrale is online.
The mini-job center then takes on most of the employer's obligations, dpa explained on the subject, "for example, calculating and collecting taxes and reporting on accident insurance".

What is the average hourly wage for mini jobs?
The hourly wage
influences how many hours a mini-jobber is allowed to work per month
.
Anyone who earns around 11 euros per hour can work a maximum of 40 hours a month under the previous regulation in order not to exceed the 450 euro limit (marginal income limit).
"With the planned increase in the statutory minimum wage to 12 euros per hour, the mini-job limit will be increased accordingly to 520 euros per month on October 1, 2022," informed the Mini-Job Center (as of March 15) accordingly in its blog.

12 euros minimum wage from October 2022
The increase in the statutory minimum wage will take place in stages: While the
generally applicable minimum wage in Germany
is currently EUR 9.82,
an adjustment to EUR 10.45 is already planned for July 1st
.
On October 1, the level of the lower wage limit is then to be raised once to
12 euros
outside of the usual increase steps.
According to Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD), more than six million employees should benefit from this.
The higher statutory minimum wage also has a corresponding effect on pensions.
