Sony's PS5 has been chronically sold out since 2020.
Tens of thousands are waiting for drops and supplies are sold out in minutes.
Is the situation finally changing?
Hamburg – The search for Sony's PS5 has been incredibly difficult in recent months.
Although the console was released in November 2020, a year and a half later, thousands of fans are still interested in the PS5.
Drops sell out in a flash and queues for a console are never-ending.
However, that could change in the coming weeks and months.
May is particularly important for this.

Where can you currently buy the PS5?
There has been a good PS5 mood in Germany since the end of April.
Almost every well-known console supplier has sold the PS5 and sometimes there were thousands of consoles to buy at once.
MediaMarkt, Saturn and Amazon in particular scored well - even with several drops within a few days.
Nevertheless, the PS5 is currently sold out again.
So the drops are not infinite and the demand is still high.
What does this mean for the end of the supply drought?
If the drops continue at this intensity, demand for the console could soon drop drastically.
Over 10,000 consoles were sold within a few days - probably even more.
This is exactly why the month of May is now interesting.
In the first few months of the year, replenishment came to a standstill.
In February, for example, only a few retailers sold the PS5.
That changed abruptly at the end of April.
It seems as if Sony is again producing a lot of consoles and is at least halfway meeting the demand.
May must show that Sony can maintain this intensity.
If it stays rich in drops, then almost everyone who is interested should soon be holding a console in their hands.
There are two scenarios:
Currently, two scenarios in particular are possible.
Either May will be really rich in drops or Sony has shot all its powder in the last few days.
If the latter is the case, then the drought will probably continue for many months.
If there are thousands of consoles again in May, the supply problem could well have been resolved by the end of the summer.

Do n't forget that
not everything about the PS5 is positive.
The chip manufacturers in particular are dampening the good mood in the PS5 world.
Among other things, the CEO of Intel says that the chip crisis surrounding the PS5 will not be over until 2023.
That would mean there would be another two years of console shortages.
In addition, there are still the effects of the corona pandemic.
While Germany is currently relaxing a lot, other countries are tightening the rules.
In some parts of China, for example, there are severe lockdowns, restricting production.
It's no secret that Sony also relies on Chinese production.
The lockdown could also cause stress in the PS5 business sooner or later.
Nevertheless, it must also be mentioned that the demand for the PS5 is declining.
With every console that is sold more, a potential buyer for further drops is also lost.
Although the demand seems gigantic, it is eventually saturated.
According to estimates and the current drop-rich situation, this should probably be achieved before the end of this year.
