(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MAY 06 - The United States has provided intelligence that helped Ukraine hit the Russian cruiser Moskva, which sank on April 14 after being hit by two Ukrainian missiles.
Sources informed to CNN report this.
After sighting a Russian warship in the Black Sea, Kiev called her American contacts to confirm that she was Moskva.
The United States confirmed that she was the cruiser and provided information on her location.
It is unclear whether the US knew Ukraine would attack and was not involved in the decision, the sources point out.
