The National Council of the Socialist Party adopted Thursday evening the agreement with France Insoumise for the legislative elections. An alliance

After 5 hours of debate, the National Council of the Socialist Party adopted the agreement with LFI for the June legislative elections by 62% on Thursday evening.

“For Olivier Faure, the First Secretary of the PS, and for the party and perhaps for the left, this night will probably remain if not historic, in any case a turning point”, explains our journalist Jannick Alimi.

An alliance which takes place before the first round of the legislative elections – which is historic, underlines our journalist.

But will she be able to allow the left to have a majority in the National Assembly?

“This is what Jean-Luc Mélenchon claims, who on his posters believes that he could be Prime Minister, recalls Jannick Alimi.

However, to be in the majority in the National Assembly, you have to win nearly 290 seats” out of 577, tempers the journalist.

“The Insoumis are not fooled.

The total indicated by LFI to be divided between Insoumis, Socialists, Communists and Ecologists did not exceed 163 or 170 seats, so it is not a majority that the Insoumis are aiming for, ”maintains our journalist.

“The rebels, the socialists, the communists and the ecologists could, on the other hand, become the main force of opposition to the macronie”.
