Over the weekend, Ari Folman's film, "Where's Anne Frank," appeared in theaters, an animated film that makes extraordinary use of the famous diary of the girl who perished in the Holocaust.

Pullman worked on the film for eight years.

The animated director of the film is Yoni Goodman, who worked with Pullman on the films "Waltz with Bashir" and "The Futurists Conference".

The production of the film was attended by 35 Israeli artists, and another 350 professionals from around the world, including painters, designers, animators and production people.

The dubbers in the Hebrew version of the film are Gila Almagor, Dror Keren, Anat Waxman, Arie Cherner and many more.

The one who dubs the character of Anne Frank is the actress Naama Sheetrit (37), who plays in many plays at the Cameri Theater.

"Dubbing Anne Frank is not like dubbing a movie or a cartoon series, there is the emotional charge here," says Sheetrit. "Once it didn't work out and fell. I waited many years to play it."

"They were looking for a long time for someone to fit Anne Frank, and he thought of me. I may not be a girl, but I talk a lot of girls. Larry Pullman was important that it not be too worn and that it not be too childish, because dubbing in Hebrew sometimes sounds a little strange."

Was it emotionally difficult to dub the character of Anne Frank?

"Without a doubt. Many times I felt like I was her. It's a very powerful film, also in terms of music. It gives us a very special experience, and I was really drawn to it emotionally, to her story, to who she was, to what she went through. It doesn't happen to me often. I connect to everything I do, but there it really was something else. "

The dubbing recording process took a long time?

"No, it was actually really short. We went in to record when the film was ready. It was screened in English at festivals around the world, and the dubbing stage in Hebrew came only after. We went to the studio and just recorded the roles."

Do you think there is a certain mission in this film, which touches on the subject of the Holocaust in a very unconventional way?

"A work of art always has something important to say, and specifically in this film it is very important to pass this message on. That the younger generation, who do not know the subject of the Holocaust like us and did not grow up on it like us, will know what was there." "One of the important things that goes through the film is the legacy of Otto Frank, Anne's father: to teach the Holocaust in Europe and create empathy for children in war zones, regardless of religion, race and geographical location. So yes, it's a kind of mission."
