It is Jesus "who calls us to communion with him. But this communion is born if we open ourselves to listening. If we remain deaf, this communion cannot be given. Listening means availability, docility, time dedicated to dialogue". (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, MAY 08 - It is Jesus "who calls us to communion with him. But this communion is born if we open to listening. If we remain deaf, this communion cannot be given. Listening means availability, docility, time dedicated to dialogue".

Pope Francis said this to ReginaCaeli.

"Today we are overwhelmed by words and by the haste of always having to say and do something - he stressed -. We are afraid of silence. How hard it is to listen to each other! I work, even in the Church! But for the Lord above all we need to listen ".

"Let us ask ourselves if we are children of listening, if we find time for the Word of God, let us have space and attention to our brothers and sisters - he exhorted -.

If we know how to listen, let the other express himself to the end.

Whoever listens to others also listens to the Lord, and vice versa ". According to the Pontiff," if we listen to him, we discover that the Lord loves us.

The way to discover the love of the Lord is to listen to him.

Then the relationship with him will no longer be impersonal, cold or facade.

Jesus seeks a warm friendship, a confidence, an intimacy.

He wants to give us a new and wonderful knowledge: that of knowing that we are always loved by him and therefore never left alone to ourselves "." Above all in the sufferings, in the hardships, in the crises, which are dark: Luici supports going through them with us - underlined Francesco-.

And so, precisely in difficult situations, we can discover that we are known and loved by the Lord.

Let's ask ourselves then:

Do I let the Lord know me?

Do I make room for him in my life, do I bring him what I live?

And, after so many times in which I have experienced his closeness, his compassion, his tenderness, what idea do I have of him? ". Finally, added the Pope," whoever follows Christ, what does he do?

Go where He goes, on the same road, in the same direction.

He goes to look for those who are lost (cf. Lk 15: 4), he is interested in those who are far away, takes to heart the situation of those who suffer, knows how to cry with those who cry, tends their hand to their neighbors, puts them on their shoulders "." And me?

- he concluded by introducing the Marian prayer - Do I let myself be loved by Jesus alone or do I go from loving him to imitating him?

May the Blessed Virgin help us to listen to Christ, to know him more and more and to follow him on the path of service ". (ANSA).
