The thrilling trial between
Johnny Depp
and his ex-wife,
Amber Heard
, continues to resonate around the world.
After the actor's shaky testimony, which revealed a toxic relationship that included a lot of drugs, alcohol and violence, it was Amber's turn to get on the witness stand.
Heard said they fell in love in 2011 after working on a joint film, and recounted the first violent incident.
"He explained to me that he had changed one of his tattoos, which bore the name of Winona Ryder. I laughed, because I thought he was joking, and he slapped me. I stared at him and waited for him to start laughing too, but he slapped me again."
She further said that when he is sober, Depp is a sensitive and gentle person who will not hurt a fly.
When he uses drugs and alcohol, he becomes filled with anger and begins to behave violently.
"After quarrels he used to disappear and came back clean and apologetic. Our relationship would be good again, until next time."

A Twitter account set up to blacken Red compared part of her testimony to the film "Mr. Ripley's Talent," claiming she copied her words from the script.

When asked about Depp's testimony, Heard said she suffered greatly during it.
"I have a hard time finding the words to describe the pain it caused me. It was a terrible experience for me, to sit here and relive it all for a few weeks."
