The sensational escape of an inmate and a prison guard from a prison in Alabama has come to an end: According to the responsible sheriff, Casey White and Vicky White were arrested in Indiana on Monday.
Casey White is back under arrest.
His alleged accomplice was injured during the arrest.
According to official information, the two are not related, but are said to have had a "special relationship".
According to the authorities, the several-day escape ended in a chase.
A pick-up that Casey White was driving had an accident, Singleton reported.
Casey White surrendered.
Vicky White was taken to the hospital.
According to US media reports, including CNN, the woman injured herself with a gun, but Singleton did not confirm this.
The authorities had been looking for the two under high pressure.
Vicky White, 56, reportedly picked up 38-year-old Casey White from the Lauderdale County Jail about a week and a half ago, allegedly to take him to court for a psychological evaluation.
Authorities later found that both had disappeared and that no examination date had been set for the 38-year-old.
The arrest was the end of a very "long, stressful and challenging week and a half," Singleton said.
“It ended as we expected.
You are in custody.”
Casey White was reportedly serving a 75-year sentence since 2019 for multiple offenses in 2015, including attempted murder, kidnapping and burglary.
He is also said to have confessed to stabbing a woman in prison.
He then pleaded "not guilty" because he was not responsible for the crime.
The process in this case is still pending.
