Bahrain Corner of Israel: Strategic Agreement Signed to Promote New Medical Technologies Israel today

The Research and Innovation Institute of Maccabi KSM and the government hospitals of Bahrain have signed a strategic agreement to promote joint regional research. The agreement will include studies that will focus on digital and personalized medicine, gynecology, diseases typical of the area and more.


A joint medical research agreement was signed between KSM (Kahn-Purple-Maccabi), the Research and Innovation Institute of Maccabi Health Services, and the government hospitals of Bahrain in order to encourage health research and foster joint medical innovation between the two countries.

The agreement was signed on Sunday in Bahrain, in the presence of Bahrain's Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Khaled Yussef al-Jalahma and the Israeli Ambassador to Bahrain, Mr. Eitan Na'a.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Tal Fatalon, Director of KSM - Maccabi's Research and Innovation Institute, and the Director General of the Bahrain Government Hospital, Dr. Ahmad al-Anasari.

Also present at the ceremony were the Director General of the Bahraini Regulatory Authority, Dr. Miriam al-Jalahma and other senior health officials.

The agreement focuses on research collaboration with government hospitals in Bahrain and will include big data research and various clinical studies focusing on digital and personalized medicine in gynecology, health economics, corona, trauma, emergency medicine and diseases typical of the region.

In addition, the collaboration strives to encourage joint development and implementation of medical innovation tools, development of learning infrastructures and hosting joint seminars, regional conferences and more.

All joint studies will be subject to regulatory requirements and all research will be conducted in complete privacy while removing identifying details and maintaining patients' confidentiality and privacy.

Dr. Tal Fatalon, Director of KSM Maccabi's Research and Innovation Institute, said: "I am excited to establish a bridge for joint research between the countries and to develop an ecosystem of joint innovation.
