On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Damascus, organized a celebration today at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
The celebration included lyrical and theatrical performances in the Russian language, which were performed by students and students studying the Russian language, students of the Schools of the Children of the Martyrs Authority and Dar Al-Aman for Orphanages in Tartous, as well as students from the Russian Language Department at Damascus University.
In a statement to reporters, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa pointed out the importance of the celebration in deepening the relationship with the Russian Federation at a time when the two countries are experiencing successive victories, noting Russia's standing by the Syrian people.
In turn, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Russian Embassy, Eldar Kurbanov, explained that the Victory Day is not only important for the Russian people, but for the whole world, when the Russian army stopped the forces of evil that threatened the world and life, expressing gratitude to the Syrian people who participated in this holiday with the Russian people.
The first teacher of the Russian language and its coordinator in the Ministry of Education Bassam Tawil pointed out that Syrian children participated in this event from most of the Syrian governorates, expressing their joy over the friendly Russia holidays, which are considered a continuation of the Syrian holidays.
The event was attended by the assistants of the Minister of Education and Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation, Admiral Alek Vladimirovich Zhuravlov, Director of the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Persons, Major General Bassam Berri, Director of Boarding Schools for the Sons and Daughters of Martyrs, Major General Lamis Rajab, President of the Revolutionary Youth Union Somar Zaher, and Head of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization Dr. Zaal, diplomats, military, representatives of the Russian community and educational events.
