"I don't understand how such a thing could have happened, it shouldn't have happened."
These are the first, a few words of Alessandro Maya, the 57-year-old arrested for having killed his wife Stefania and daughter Giulia, aged 16, with hammer blows last Wednesday in Samarate (Varese), and for having seriously injured his eldest son, Nicolò, 23 years old.
Maja reported this to his trusted lawyer, Enrico Milani, from the bed in the psychiatry ward of the Monza hospital where he is hospitalized and guarded.
The lawyer also explained to ANSA that Maja remains sedated and that he is undergoing a series of psychiatric tests.
