A family in Cornwall got fed up with waiting for their parcel to be delivered - and put up a sign in their window so DPD could deliver the parcel correctly.

Cornwall - A long-awaited online order often entails anxious waiting.

Some customers are impatient or expect the worst - after all, there are occasional cases in which, for example, the mail has been squashed and stuffed into the mailbox or the delivery seems to have been lost because of an illegible collection certificate.

A DPD customer from Cornwall has now developed a strategy to ensure problem-free delivery of her parcel.

DPD customer: "I hope you will arrive here today with my parcel."

The customer wrote a message to the DPD delivery man and posted it in the window of her house.

A photo that she shared on Twitter shows that there was a large sign with legible writing.

"DPD, we are at home and have been since yesterday at 1 p.m.!

Please come to the back door - thank you!” read the sign in capital letters.

In her tweet, she wrote to DPD's official account: "I hope you actually arrive here today with my package.

Our house is the one with the newly added big sign to help you".

She also pointed out that her beagle often sits by the window and the house is easily recognizable from the main street.

As it turned out in the comments below the post, the message apparently served its purpose and the package arrived undamaged and just a day later than planned.

A DHL customer, on the other hand, was less fortunate with his delivery.

He found his package deformed in the mailbox.
