After Ferrero recall: Another chocolate manufacturer reports salmonella recall

After the huge Ferrero recall, another chocolate manufacturer is recalling numerous of its products.
Salmonella was also discovered here.
Kassel – Shortly before Easter, the Italian confectionery manufacturer Ferrero launched a huge recall.
In addition to the popular surprise eggs, children's chocolate bons and numerous Easter sweets were also affected.
Now another chocolate manufacturer has to recall numerous products.
Danel Feinkost informed about the current recall of various chocolate products from the manufacturer Strauss/Elite.
During routine investigations at a plant in Israel, several samples containing salmonella "were discovered in the production line and in the raw chocolate used as raw material," the company said in a statement on Friday (April 29, 2022).

Consumption of the products is strongly discouraged.
Since, according to the consumer portal productwarning.eu, there are no restrictions on certain best-before dates, it can be assumed that all data are affected.

Recall of chocolate products: typical symptoms of salmonella poisoning
Salmonella are bacteria that often get into the human digestive tract via food, for example due to poor hygiene.
They can multiply quickly, especially on food that has not been refrigerated.
Typical symptoms of a salmonella infection are, for example, sudden diarrhea as well as headaches and abdominal pains.
But vomiting and a slight fever can also indicate an infection.

"The symptoms often last for several days and then subside by themselves," said the Federal Center for Health Education.
In rare cases, however, it can also lead to severe disease progression, such as sepsis.
If you experience severe or persistent symptoms after consuming any of the products affected by the recall, it is always advisable to seek medical attention.
In addition, a possible salmonella infection should be pointed out, explained the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
