According to forecasts, May will also remain dry.

In some cases, the 30 degree mark can already be reached this week.

In addition, gusts can cause danger.

Kassel – The warm weather will remain in Germany for the first time this week.

Sometimes there are already the first summer days with up to 30 degrees.

But that also has its downsides, because if it is too dry in May, the risk of forest fires also increases.

The previous spring months were already particularly dry.

What makes the situation even more explosive: In some parts of Germany there can always be gusts of wind.

An expert warns that if they stir up dust and sand, the summer weather can become quite dangerous.

On Wednesday (May 11) it should be up to 30 degrees.

Up to 30 degrees in Germany: heat wave in the weather in May – dust and sand storm threatens

"On Wednesday, the risk of forest fires in the region even reached the highest warning level of 5 and there is only sun and no rain in sight far and wide," warns qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung to the weather portal wetter.net.

Monday (09 May) to Thursday (12 May) it can be 30 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country.

From Friday it currently looks as if it will cool down a bit and only get between 15 and 24 degrees warm.

However, hardly any rain is expected.

Instead, Jung expects gusts of wind of up to 75 kilometers per hour on Thursday (May 12) and Friday (May 13) in the north and east of Germany.

Since the ground is very loose due to the drought, the sand and dust can be thrown up.

This leads to poor visibility, especially on the roads.

Jung recommends: “Therefore, one should be very vigilant.

There have already been fatalities and injuries in pile-ups caused by sandstorms in Germany in the past.”

Weather in Germany: According to the DWD, there could be some rain here

The German Weather Service (DWD), on the other hand, speaks of a little more rain than Jung, but only in individual parts of Germany.

On Monday (May 9th) isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in the southern German mountains.

In the rest of Germany it stays dry.

Some rain is expected in the northwest and north on Tuesday (May 10), while clouds will then move towards the low mountain ranges on Wednesday (May 11).

Except for these few rain clouds, however, the DWD predicts a similar development as graduate meteorologist Jung.

However, there is a small difference: According to the DWD, it should remain warm up to and including Wednesday and will cool down a bit from Thursday.

Before that, 30 degrees could even be cracked on the Upper Rhine and then it would get warmer again at the weekend.
