(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, MAY 11 - An Al Jazeera journalist, Shireen Abu Akleh, was killed after being shot in the head during clashes between Palestinian militiamen and the Israeli army in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.
Another reporter was also injured.
According to the Palestinian agency Wafa, which cites the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the journalist Abu Akleh, (51) "died after being hit by the occupation army".
The exchange of accusations took place immediately, with Abu Mazen saying that he held "the Israeli government fully responsible for this heinous crime", stressing that it is part "of the daily politics pursued by the occupation against our people, their land and their holy places".
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett responds by accusing the Palestinian president of accusing Israel "without solid proof".
