A suspected killer died of a heart attack in South Carolina while apparently about to dispose of a body.
Police found the 60-year-old's body on Saturday, the Edgefield County sheriff's office said.
Neighbors had therefore called the police because they had discovered an unconscious man in the garden.
In the man's garden, the investigators found a body wrapped in garbage bags in a freshly dug hole, it is said.
The dead was the 65-year-old girlfriend of the alleged killer.
Hole almost completely filled
The autopsy revealed that the woman had been strangled.
According to neighbors, the 60-year-old dug the hole in the garden on Friday.

According to investigators, he almost completely filled the hole with his girlfriend's body.
Then he apparently collapsed.
The background and motive for the crime are unclear.
