A passenger with no flying experience has apparently landed a private plane safely in the US state of Florida.
The pilot was probably no longer able to steer the plane for medical reasons.
This is reported by the television channels CNN and WPBF 25 .
The passenger reported to flight security by radio.
"I have a serious situation here," CNN quoted the passenger as saying from the recorded exchange.
The pilot is no longer able to fly.
"And I have no idea how to fly the plane."
A flight security employee gave the passenger instructions on what to do.
“Try to keep the wings level and try to initiate the descent.
Push the sticks forward and go down very slowly," the air traffic controller said over the radio, according to CNN.
The passenger then landed the plane at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.
According to CNN, the US Federal Aviation Administration announced that two people were on board the Cessna 208.
The pilot may have had a medical problem.
It is not known how the pilot and the unknown passenger are doing.
With his action, the passenger apparently caused a stir.
In radio recordings, another air traffic controller could be heard telling pilots of other planes what was happening to the Cessna, according to CNN.
"You just witnessed how a few passengers landed the plane," said the TV station, according to an air traffic controller to a pilot who was waiting with his machine for takeoff.
“Did you say the passengers landed the plane?” the pilot asked back: “Oh, my God.
Great work."
