After two not-so-successful versions, Motorola is retaking the path of folding smartphones with the new Razr 3. The 91mobiles website has released online the first information on the third generation of the clamshell phone of the group, whose telephony division has been under the control of Lenovo.
According to the photos obtained from the source, the Razr 3 still takes the features of the famous model of the 2000s, with the natural addition of a second screen instead of the alphanumeric keyboard, joined to the upper one by means of a hinge.
The final result, like the previous iterations, is something very similar to Samsung's current Galaxy Z Flip 3, which has in fact cleared the trend of 'foldables' towards the mass also thanks to more competitive and accessible prices.
The Razr 3 will have a more squared design, with the elimination of the lower step that divided the touch panel from the frame, the fingerprint sensor will be positioned on the power button and the photographic sector will benefit from substantial updates.
There is talk of a 50 megapixel main sensor alongside which a wide-angle and macro camera, with a resolution of 13 megapixels, would find space.
The selfie cam will rest on a 32 megapixel sensor while the internal foldable display will have Fhd + technology.
Motorola had plans to offer two versions of the phone: one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and another with the unannounced Plus variant.
However, with the delays in semiconductor delivery, it is unclear how the company intends to proceed ahead of the launch.
