A man who was extremely drunk at times kept the federal police in Leipzig busy for several hours on Monday afternoon.
As the federal police announced on Wednesday, the 51-year-old had been traveling on a regional train without a ticket around 3 p.m. and had insulted a service employee “with extremely defamatory words”.
That was the first thing the police called into action.
Officers also found a telescopic baton on the man.
Around five hours later, the man at Leipzig Central Station caused trouble again.
"This time the 51-year-old threw a total of three beer bottles in the direction of the parked taxis," said the police, who intervened again.
No one was injured, and there was no damage to the vehicles.
Police take drunk to hospital
A subsequent breath alcohol test showed the 51-year-old was more than five per thousand.
The officials had taken the man to a hospital for treatment given the extremely high value.
Blood alcohol concentrations of more than four parts per thousand can lead to respiratory failure and death in humans.
The man is now being investigated for attempting dangerous bodily harm, insult and fraudulently obtaining benefits.
There is also an administrative offense for violating the Weapons Act.
For many people, even small amounts of alcohol can be fatal.
If you are still capable of acting with a blood alcohol level as high as five per thousand, you are probably an alcoholic.
