Senior woman lets strangers into the apartment: he was looking for his child's "ball" - only later does she realize what happened

An elderly woman falls for a stranger who politely introduces himself to her at the door.
She lets the man into her apartment in good faith.
And experienced a nasty surprise a little later.
Constance – At around 10 a.m., a 79-year-old senior woman in Tuttlingen rang.
The elderly woman opened her apartment door on Karlstrasse, in front of which a strange man was standing.
He politely explained to her that his child was playing ball and it accidentally landed on her balcony.
Unsuspecting and in good faith, the woman let the man into her apartment.
Together they looked for the ball - in vain.
The man then said goodbye to the elderly woman.
Hours later, the elderly woman noticed that her wallet had disappeared from the apartment.
Children like to play ball in the garden.
It often ends up on the neighbor's property.
Scammers know that too.

Ball trick: scammers use everyday situations as a scam
The police are now warning of the new scam by criminals.
In the "ball trick", the scammer rings any doorbell and tells the residents that his child has thrown his ball onto the property or over the balcony railing of the apartment or house in question.
The scammer asks for entry and goes on a search with the local resident.
While the unsuspecting people are busy looking, the criminals get a glimpse of the apartment and inconspicuously take money or valuables with them.
Never let strangers in and if a stranger talks about a ball on the balcony they keep the door closed and call the police.

In this case it was the same.
It was only hours later that the elderly woman from Tuttlingen noticed that her wallet had disappeared from the apartment.
The old lady was not the only one who received a visit from the stranger that day.
Around 10:30 a.m., the man is said to have tried his luck again with an 82-year-old on Freiburgstrasse.
Since the senior does not have a balcony, the perpetrator left the property again.
It was only in the afternoon that the old man noticed that the bunch of keys he had put on the outside of the apartment door was missing, according to the Konstanz police.
