This is all the difference: the big boom of "Shrek and Majadele" | Israel today

2022-05-11T05:53:07.378Z

The second chapter in the series of articles by the two journalists on both sides of the barricade was supposed to cover a fascinating situation on a burning issue in Israel, but in practice it ignores the flames.

Two journalists set off, at sea in a boom.

And after two articles "Shrek and Majadele" one can definitely announce that they are back with a kind of "Boom!"

To the average viewer.

In the two articles that aired until yesterday, the two's journalistic work did its thing and brought the sights and sounds from the war zones of the "Guardian of the Walls" in Lod and the promiscuous areas of "Bedouin" in the Negev - but the two bring the big story themselves.

The genre in which a pair of colleagues go out into the field is already familiar to viewers, and its uniqueness is the dialogue that is supposed to develop between the two creators of the article who come from both sides of the barricade - and where the two certainly provide the "boom".

The meeting of the extremes between them - ultra-Orthodox versus Muslim, delicate versus aggressive, provided a reflection of what is currently happening in Israel: the helpless Jewish public in the face of Arab nationalism and violence.

In the tense atmosphere surrounding the Israeli media, both Shrek and Majadele are perceived as immediately suspicious of objectivity: Majadele is not content with being a political commentator for the Arab sector, he has bought his status as one who fights the Arab agenda whenever an explosive debate develops in studios. The performances in which he tried to strengthen the "symmetry" in the "Wall Guard" riots.

Shrek is perceived as a political scientist, but carries on his back the suspicion on the right that he is not fighting enough for the ideology from which he came, and he is an active media supporter in the handshake government of Bennett Lapid Abbas.

Shrek certainly fights for his truth, but his softened style in the face of a stubborn ideological adversary, and the natural desire to return in a cab to the editing rooms, leave the document with Majadele's hand on top.

On issues that really need to be put on the table, just like in Delta's new commercial, that Ricky is forced to walk gently on eggs in front of a colleague, and can not really "knock on the table" and blame the violence in Arab culture or non-finger-pointing leadership for lowering the flames.

To the dismal "boom" we received, the Arab side contributed its own - throughout the two episodes, Jadla is hardly shocked for a moment by the violence he sees from the Arab side towards the Jew: parents who fear for their children in Lod, an entire house burned by arson, even terrorist attacks.

We'll wait, maybe that will change in the next few chapters.
