On the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, dozens of tourists crowd the middle of the road to take a souvenir photo with the Arc de Triomphe.

A dangerous situation in view of a very dense traffic of vehicles.

“A car passed very close to us,” laughs a Brazilian tourist traveling with her sisters.

Tourists have to wait one behind the other, several tens of minutes to have their photo.

They wait on a small platform 50 cm wide and are brushed against the sides of the road by heavy goods vehicles, cars and two-wheelers.

"You have to be aware of the situation for your safety," says a young visitor from Hong Kong.

Many tourists on social networks choose to pose in the middle of the avenue in order to have a breathtaking view of the famous monument without being bothered by the crowds around.

“It's the best spot for a photo,” according to the Brazilian tourist.

Others prefer to play it safe and opt for the sidewalk.

In case of large crowds, they must wait a few minutes to hope to have a little room to get their souvenir photo.
