One day after the killing of two children in Hanau, Hesse, the authorities began investigating the murder of a male suspect.
According to the results of the autopsy, a girl found dead on a high-rise balcony died from "sharp violence" on the neck, according to the police in Offenbach and the Hanau public prosecutor's office.
His brother, who was found in the courtyard, succumbed to multiple internal injuries in the hospital, which suggested a fall from a great height.
How the fall happened is still being determined.
The siblings are an eleven-year-old and a seven-year-old, both of whom lived in the high-rise building.
Found by passers-by
Meanwhile, the search for a suspect continues.
According to SPIEGEL TV information, it is the father of the children.
Video recordings should therefore show how a person who looks similar to S. runs away from the crime scene and gets into a taxi.
No arrests have been made, said the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office.
The day before, the investigators had spoken of a suspected family background to the crime.
On Wednesday morning, passers-by found the seriously injured boy on the ground in front of the high-rise building in downtown Hanau where the apartment is located, who died a short time later in the hospital.
His dead sister was discovered on the balcony of the apartment on the ninth floor of the house.
The residential building has a total of eleven floors, with a shop and a café on the ground floor.
Investigators continued to look for witnesses.
