(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 12 - Farewell to Francesco Nucara, secretary of the Republican party for 16 years (from 2001 to 2017).
Nucara, born in 1940, was a deputy for five legislatures, from 1983 to 1994 and from 2006 to 2013, undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works from 1989 to 1991 and deputy minister of the Environment from 2005 to 2006, in one of the Berlusconi governments.
Graduated in statistics and actuarial sciences and in architecture, enrolled in the register of journalists, he has always placed economic development and the redemption of the South at the center of his political action.
He was vice president of the Bicameral Commission for the South.
Although no longer holding official positions, he had maintained a strong political commitment, also told in his two latest essays "Storia di una passion political" and "Incontri con lapolitica", published by Rubbettino in 2017 and 2021. (ANSA).
