(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MAY 11 - The American Chamber approves four measures against Russia and Belarus and support for Ukraine despite opposition from some republicans.
The first approved measure aims to exclude Russian officials from participating in meetings of the G20, the Basileaper Banking Standards Committee and the Financial Stability Board.
The second concerns instead asking for the suspension of the multilateral payments due from Kiev, while the third clarifies that the foreign subsidiaries of American institutions must respect the sanctions imposed by the Biden administration on Russia and Belarus.
The fourth provision prohibits the US Treasury from engaging in transactions involving the exchange of Special DrawingRights, the special drawing rights which are the currency of the IMF, controlled by Russia or Belarus.
