It was therefore not just an effect of the 7 p.m. curfew at the height of the pandemic when television was widely watched, in the spring of 2021. On Thursday May 12, “HPI” confirmed its high addictive potential.

The launch of season 2 of the series between comedy and thriller has reached nirvana on TF1.

On average, 8.5 million viewers attended the new adventures of the mother with a High Intellectual Potential (HPI) camped with enthusiasm by Audrey Fleurot, or 42.8% of the public present in front of the station.

On its own, the first unpublished episode embarked 9.2 million curious people.

The second of this evening maintained 7.8 million.

On April 29, 2021, the debut of the first season had mobilized 9.3 million followers on average (excluding replay).

“We are overjoyed.

We knew we were expected, that the context this year was different without last year's curfew.

However, a family audience has returned: the series appeals to women, children, men, thriller lovers, comedy fans.

And it feels good,” applauds Pierre Laugier, of Itinéraire Productions (UGC Group)

who co-produced this creation with Septembre Productions (Mediawan group).

In detail, nearly half of the women in charge of purchases (48.9% of audience share), targeted by advertisers, followed the adventures of Morgane Alvaro, the housekeeper mother who became a consultant to the PJ of Lille.

Heroin without filter and without limit also carried with it the youngest (43% of PDA among 15-24 year olds and even 24.7% among 4-14 year olds).

“Some dialogues have become punchlines”

“This success rewards the talent of an entire team, starting with Audrey Fleurot and head screenwriter Alice Chegaray-Breugnot, who managed to reconcile demanding, daring and innovative writing, continues the producer.

Moreover, we see it on social networks: certain dialogues have become punchlines in which people recognize themselves.

“I'm happy because in season 2, we pushed what viewers liked in the premiere with less compromise and more originality.

That they follow us is great, rejoices the collection director.

And we see a very strong attachment to the character: Morgane has almost become a friend, as if she were real.

She is also uninhibited: she is not a perfect mother who succeeds in everything, she has problems like everyone else.

We wanted a series very rooted in life through its language, its common references…” Bingo: previewed on Salto, “HPI” has also been the most watched fiction on the French platform since its launch in October 2020.
