(ANSA) - TURIN, MAY 13 - With the opening, next week, of the two offices in Turin and Naples - in the presence of the president Gian Maria Gros-Pietro and the managing director Carlo Messina - the construction of the museum system of the Gallerie d Italy of Intesa Sanpaolo.
Giovanni Bazoli will participate and will continue to perform the functions of chairman emeritus at the invitation of the board of directors.
Bazoli will continue to be able to be consulted by the president and the managing director on governance issues and on the Bank's strategic and institutional issues and will continue, in collaboration with Gros-Pietro, to design and implement the Culture Project.
The Culture Project, which is divided into multi-year planning horizons and is led by a scientific committee of experts, directs and proposes projects and interventions in the field of art, culture and historical heritage of the Bank, carried out by the Art and Culture and Historical Heritage Department headed by Michele Coppola.
The architectural, artistic, librarianship and archival heritage of Intesa Sanpaolo consists of over 20 prestigious buildings, 20 kilometers of documentation managed and enhanced by the group's Historical Archive, 7 million photographic positives and negatives and over 35,000 works of art, covering an arch temporal ranging from the 5th century BC to the 21st century: a wide selection is permanently exhibited in the Gallerie d'Italia offices and among these there are masterpieces by Caravaggio, Tiepolo,
Canaletto, Boccioni, Fontana, Manzoni and Burri.
To date, the more than 3,500 works classified as fine artistic assets have a value of approximately 311.5 million euros according to the 2021 financial statements.
