(ANSA) - LONDON, MAY 13 - The government of Boris Johnson has widened the anti-Moscow sanctions in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine to Vladimir Putin's ex-wife, LiudmilaOceretnaia, to gymnast Alina Kabaeva (indicated by the media as the Tsar's current girlfriend) , to a grandmother of the latter, to some cousins and relatives of the president, as well as to some other businessmen.
The Foreign Office reports indicating that new sanctions bring the British blacklist to a total of over 1000 individuals and over 100 entities.
According to Minister Liz Truss, today's measures are aimed at targeting the "lavish lifestyle" attributed to Putin's family.
