Kyoto, Japan – FIFA and eFootball face stiff competition this year from a game some fans have had to wait 15 years for.
Mario Strikers Battle League is Nintendo's first soccer game since 2007 and shortly before the release on June 10, 2022, the publisher is really banging the advertising drum.
In a new trailer, Nintendo gives an exciting look at the new Mario Strikers and its gameplay, but fans don't care.
Instead, they complain loudly about the lack of a favorite character.

Mario Strikers Battle League: 10 characters to choose from, your favorite is missing
What happened?
The Kyoto-based company recently shared new details about Mario Strikers Battle League on Twitter.
In early May, Nintendo revealed that a total of ten characters would be playable in Battle League, including the usual suspects such as Mario, Yoshi, Wario and Bowser.
Conspicuously absent from the – already small – line-up was Daisy, who has become a real fan favorite in Nintendo's sports games.
This was followed on May 12 by an extensive overview trailer that showed the characters, game modes and arenas in more detail.
Thankfully, Mario Strikers Battle League won't have motion controls.
Otherwise some screens would have to suffer again, as was the case recently with Switch Sports.
By then, however, the damage had already been done: the only thing that still interested many fans was the absence of Daisy.
Since then, numerous comments have been accumulating in the comments below the trailer on YouTube, just begging for the return of the princess dressed in orange.

Why Daisy?
Actually, Daisy is now just a supporting character in the Super Mario universe and mainly appears outside of the Mario Jump 'n Run games.
However, she is a popular character, especially in the sports games of the franchise, precisely because her appearance as an ambitious sports gun sets her apart from the other characters a little.
In both previous installments of the Mario Strikers games, she shot herself into the hearts of many players.
So the fact that she doesn't appear in Battle League for the first time upsets the fans.
Mario Strikers Battle League: Fans insist on Daisy as another character through updates
Could Daisy still come into play?
With so many fans on YouTube and Twitter now complaining that Daisy is missing from Mario Striker's Battle League, it's at least hopeful that Nintendo is listening to the feedback.
In general, people often criticize that ten characters in the game are simply not enough.
However, that could change with future updates after the release of the game.
With the latest Mario games for the Nintendo Switch, the publisher has proven that DLC content is playing an increasingly important role for him.
It is by no means impossible that further characters will be delivered via update and Daisy is not the only character that fans still want for the football game.
Nevertheless, the chances are not bad that Mario Strikers Battle League could become real competition for FIFA and Co, even if it is a completely different kind of football game.
