Michael Winterhoff (2012): Suspicion of dangerous bodily harm

The Bonn public prosecutor's office apparently had the practice rooms of child psychiatrist Michael Winterhoff in Bonn searched.
The reports of the Bonner "General-anzeiger" as well as "Süddeutsche Zeitung" and WDR unanimously.
Child and youth welfare facilities that had cooperated with Winterhoff were also searched.
According to the reports, 100 detectives were on duty, and the raid took place in 15 youth welfare facilities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony.
Numerous patient files were confiscated, it is said.
According to "SZ", the public prosecutor's office announced that a child psychiatrist from Bonn was being investigated on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
Those responsible for the searched facilities behaved cooperatively and voluntarily released relevant documents.
The material must now be evaluated.
Investigations since September
According to the “General-Anzeiger”, the public prosecutor’s office in Bonn began investigations against Winterhoff last September.
According to the newspaper, Winterhoff is said to have given children a diagnosis that was not technically recognized systematically and without a detailed anamnesis.
In several cases he allegedly prescribed psychotropic drugs without medical necessity.
Those affected also reported to SPIEGEL about the consequences.
Winterhoff has always rejected allegations of dubious treatment methods.
In the past, Winterhoff had caused controversy above all with his bestseller on developmental psychology, Why Our Children Become Bullies.
In it he criticized current educational models.
The Bonn doctor was a guest on several talk shows such as "Maischberger" and gave lectures throughout Europe.
