As the specialty tests for the new baccalaureate began on Wednesday, the Ministry of Education announced that 936,000 candidates confirmed at least one orientation wish in higher education, a slight increase of 0.6% compared to to 2021. The second stage of Parcoursup, which ended on Friday April 8, allowed candidates to finalize their file and confirm their wishes.
In detail, 622,000 high school students preparing for the baccalaureate, educated in France or abroad, have made wishes (down 2% compared to 2021).
To which must be added 186,000 students who wish to reorient themselves in the first year or who express wishes as a precaution while awaiting their end-of-year results (+ 2% compared to 2021) as well as 95,000 candidates who want to resume their studies.
11.6 million wishes or sub-wishes
“33,000 candidates with education abroad (excluding French high schools abroad)”, also submitted wishes, specifies the Ministry of Education.
A total of 11.6 million wishes and sub-wishes were made.
At the apprenticeship level, “191,000 candidates have already made more than 904,000 wishes for these training courses”, details the ministry, while the number of apprenticeship training courses has increased according to the government.
It has gone from 5,900 in 2021 to 7,500 this year.
After the phases of registration and formulation of wishes, the examination of the applications by the higher education courses is in progress.
Candidates will be able to consult, in their file, the answers of the training courses from June 2, 2022 for the third phase of Parcoursup.
