Eurovision: the French Alvan and Ahez shook the contest

2022-05-14T20:37:29.692Z

The French candidates from Brittany rose to sixth position this Saturday evening live from Turin. An electro-Celtic performance

Not easy to sing among the first.

Quickly passed, quickly forgotten?

Alvan & Ahez had to hit hard to print, stay in the heads and ears of the Eurovision audience this Saturday night live from Turin.

In 6th position out of 25, it's always better than opening the ball, worse than closing the party just before the votes.

At 9:38 p.m. as planned, Le tandem, which is in fact a quartet, gives everything to defend “Fulenn”, Breizh electro, in Breton in the text.

"Fulenn" is "the young girl" of this feminist song where a young lady prefers to dance around the fire rather than undergo an unwanted marriage.

“Fulenn” is also “the spark”.

And there are downright flames around our tricolor artists enveloped in Celtic projections and hypnotic green lights, but served by a messy realization on the screen.

Totally exotic candidates

“I dance with the devil, so what?

She dances with the devil and so,” says the refrain of this hard-hitting song which suddenly seems very exotic in this competition where usually the candidates from Central Europe sometimes take us on a lot of travel.

This time, we say to ourselves that the roles are reversed, that our comrades from Lithuania, Armenia or Azerbaijan cannot get over discovering Alexis Morvan – “Alvan”, that's him – and Marine Lavigne – “Ahez is her—totally exotic French candidates.

A good sign ?

Whether that will be enough to win remains to be seen.

Not sure.

Or at least almost as good a score as Barbara Pravi, who finished second last year.

Response at 12:40 a.m.

From the start of the evening, while waiting for Alvan & Ahez, the Paris-Turin line was working perfectly thanks to the musicians of Rockin'1000.

Italians who a few years ago initiated gigantic concerts by a thousand amateur artists like the one taking place… this Saturday evening at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

At the opening of Eurovision, Rockin'1000 covers "Give peace a chance"

by

John Lennon, sung by the 7,000 people present in the room, a highly symbolic song while the Ukrainian candidates are expected in the middle of the evening and have a good chance of winning according to the bookmakers.
