Dissolve two dishwasher tabs in a cup of hot water and use the toilet brush to distribute the mixture in the toilet bowl.
Leave it on overnight - the next day the deposits can be easily removed with the toilet brush.

You should clean your washing machine regularly to prevent a musty smell from spreading through the drum and removing limescale deposits.
