At the end there was again great dialogue power: The guilty girl (scary good: Zoë Valks) spoke sarcastically to the commissioner about the murderous boredom of puberty: "It's fascinating what people do when they want something.
It's like training a dog.” This is how the girl celebrated the manipulative, destructive power she had used on her half-brother.
Then she added annoyed: "If someone does everything for you, then eventually it gets boring too."
Murder out of boredom with life, that was the bitter point of this "police call", which consistently explored the lifeworld of modern teenagers without getting into stumpy sociological considerations.
In this thriller, teenagers were taken seriously - also as moral beings who, despite all their radiation exposure, have to be able to distinguish between good and evil.
Or as Commissioner Eyckhoff (Verena Altenberger) put it at the end of the interrogation: »I can't imagine what it's like to kill someone and not feel anything at all.
That's a place I can't follow you to.
But I know what it's like to ruin the life of someone you love.
Doesn't it hurt you at all to ruin Patrick's life?”
In our review we wrote: »The class of this thriller is also shown by the way in which, after the tentative approach to the teenagers, action and attitude come to a head in the last meters - and the commissioner clearly positions herself on the question of who is the victim and who is the perpetrator or perpetrator is.
Let's put it this way: Even the exceptional state of adolescence does not legitimize being a complete asshole.«

How did you like the teenage "police call"?
Another "police call" with Verena Altenberger as Commissioner Eyckhoff is already being planned: case number six is to be shot with her in the fall, and the broadcast is planned for spring 2023.
Stephan Zinner will be there again as colleague Dennis Eden.
Zinner is also known in Bavaria as a cabaret artist and musician;
his character lends a certain Bavarian grounding to the highly modern, adventurous Munich »Polizeiruf« about the Austrian actress Altenberger.
After the teen crime drama, Verena Altenberger is represented in another strong television production with a focus on young people: From May 27th, the series "Wild Republic" will be available in the ARD media library, where Altenberger plays a teacher who takes a group of young delinquents to the Alps accompanied.
The beautifully photographed eight-part series (read a review here) was produced in a hitherto unique model by the streaming provider Magenta-TV and the public broadcaster WDR.
