Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo is the big winner of this year's Billboard Music Awards.
The 19-year-old US singer won seven awards on Monday night, including "Top New Artist" and "Top Female Artist".
The young musician, who was not present that evening, was nominated in 13 categories.
Rapper Kanye West (44) won six awards, his Canadian colleague Drake (35) five.
Among other things, Drake was named "Top Artist" and "Top Male Artist".
Australian rapper The Kid Laroi (18) and Canadian singer Justin Bieber (28) received five trophies for their song "Stay".
The Billboard Music Awards have been presented annually by the specialist magazine of the same name since 1990 and are largely based on chart positions.
US superstar Taylor Swift (32), favorite Doja Cat (26, 14 nominations) and South Korean boy band BTS also won several awards in Las Vegas this year.
Canadian R&B pop star The Weeknd, 32, who scooped 10 trophies last year and had 17 chances to win this year as a favorite, just managed to snag one prize.
Overall, prizes were awarded in over 60 categories in Las Vegas.
Travis Scott's first appearance after deadly Astroworld festival
The moderator was rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs (52).
Among others, Travis Scott, who made his first TV appearance since the accident at the Astroworld festival in Houston with ten dead, was on stage.
During a performance by the rapper on the evening of November 5, 2021, there was a panic in the dense crowd in front of the stage, and hundreds were injured.
