The historic ANSA photojournalist Massimo New Year passed away this morning at the age of 77.
Born in Rome on 21 October 1944, he came to photography in the seventies.
With his images, he told about Italy with its contradictions: the violence of the years of lead, the personalities of the Christian Democrats and the Communist Party, the tragedies that upset the country, without forgetting the presidents of the Republic and the popes who have happened.
New Year's Eve was not limited to the story of the great events, he also dedicated himself to the stories of ordinary people, recounting the vices and virtues of a changing country.
His treasure, the images he created, remain forever in our memory.
