"The objectives indicated by the PNRR - said Santalucia - such as the elimination of the civil and criminal backlog, cannot be achieved if the judiciary is not involved as the protagonist of this great revolution, not as subjects who must be suspected of being the first responsible for breakdowns and therefore disciplined ".
"We continue to hope that there can be improvements - explained Santalucia, speaking at the open assembly - even if the political realism of many tells us that if they open to changes these will be pejorative".
However, the National Magistrates Association "must cultivate confidence in a Parliament that knows how to see what is wrong and that knows how to deliver a law on the judiciary in accordance with the Constitution".
And he concluded: "It is necessary to make an effort to put aside the feelings that exist and are spreading in some sectors of the political-parliamentary class of revenge against the judiciary. This is not the time".
