A couple of parents from northern India are suing their only son.

The reason: the son, who has been married for six years and has reached the age of 35, has not given birth to a child, thus depriving them of the title "grandfather" and "grandmother" - as any person their age desires to be.

The parents presented their son with an ultimatum: If we do not have a grandchild within a year, we will demand compensation of $ 650,000 from you.

According to reports in The Times of India, the couple Shari Seger (35) and his wife Shubangi Sinha (31) have not yet responded to the lawsuit.

The unusual lawsuit by the parents, Sanjayev (61) and Sadana Prased (57), who will appear in court in the coming days, was filed as a ground of "mental harassment" on the grounds that their son and wife do not intend to have a child with whom they planned to play at retirement age. .

Thus they demand an amount equal to all the savings they used to raise their son, including his training as a pilot in the US, a wedding reception at a five-star hotel, a luxury car worth $ 80,000 and a honeymoon abroad.

In addition, they claim to have supported Ben financially for two years when he was unemployed.

The parents said: "We barely have any money left because we spent everything on our son."

Parent's lawyer Arwind Kumar Srivesteva claimed the case was "the first of its kind in Uttarakhand and probably in the country".

He added that the parents' demand was "justified" and that their expectations were "not wrong" and that it was due "because of mental cruelty"
