Nearly three years have passed since the fifth season of "Black Mirror" aired on Netflix, and now it appears that a new season of the successful series is in the works, as was reported yesterday (Monday) in "Variety".
According to a report in the American magazine, the next season, for which the casting phase is currently at work, is expected to include more episodes than in the previous season - in which only three episodes were broadcast.

A source close to the production told Variety that the new season is expected to be much more "cinematic" in its scope, so that each episode is treated as if it were a film in itself - as it was in previous seasons, with the length of the episodes crossing the hour.
The new season, if indeed aired, will be the first without the series creator, Charlie Brooker, taking part in it, after the show's production company was sold about two years ago.
"Black Mirror" is an anthology series from the genre of science fiction and dystopian science, as mentioned, created by Charlie Brooker.
The series deals with the possible implications of the modern and technological lifestyle on the future of humanity and its values.
The series was produced by Zeppotron for Endemol.
The series first aired in 2011, and aired until 2014, on British Channel 4.
After Netflix added the series for viewing through its catalog in December 2014, in September 2015 Netflix purchased the entire series and began broadcasting it exclusively starting from its third season which aired in October 2016. On June 5, 2019, it aired its fifth season.
