This is a positive signal for the French video game ecosystem.
The Gameloft group (Vivendi), which until now produced its games in Eastern Europe and Canada, is opening its first development studio in France.
The latter is partly made up of a dozen graduates from the renowned Rubika school (Valenciennes): their graduation project, a competitive online game for consoles and PC around a futuristic sport, hit the eye of Gameloft's creative direction.
“It would have been a shame to see these young talents go abroad
,” underlines the CEO, Stéphane Roussel.
They will be supported by around thirty employees who will be recruited by the end of the year.
