TV presenter Jörg Pilawa and his wife Irina have split up.
This was announced by the couple's lawyer in Hamburg.
"Yes it's right.
Jörg and Irina Pilawa have been separated by mutual consent for several months.
Since my clients want to protect their privacy, also with regard to the well-being of their children, they will not comment further on the subject and ask that they refrain from further inquiries," the statement said.
The television magazine "at a glance" and the "Bild" newspaper had previously reported.
The couple married 16 years ago in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and have three children together.
The quiz master recently switched from ARD to Sat.1.
At the new employer, the 56-year-old moderates, among other things, the program »Quiz für Dich«.
The format comes from TV producer John de Mol's Talpa Concepts company. In Holland, the original "Deze quiz is voor jou" will be moderated by his sister Linda de Mol.
